Meet nine-year-old twin sisters Kamilah and Nikayla Scott. These entrepreneurial siblings are the founders of Little Ladies Organics, a line of bath and skin care products. The Scott sisters launched their business last fall, after watching videos about soapmaking on YouTube.
Kamilah and Nikayla were also inspired by their mother, Shauna Larmore, who started her own business, a credit repair company, in 2014.
“Nikayla said she had been watching soap making videos on YouTube,” Larmore said. “Everyone loved the idea. I gave them the financial backing and the rest is history.”
Little Ladies Organics offers homemade soaps, bath salts, bath bombs, body butter and lip balm, with prices ranging from $2 to $10.
Kamilah and Nikayla have also received a lot of community support in their endeavour. They promoted their company by visiting local events. Now the story of Little Ladies Organics has gone international and fans and customers from all over the world are congratulating the young business owners. Kamilah and Nikayla have even inspired their peers.
“One of my friends wants to start a business sewing stuff and selling it,” says Kamilah.
