Brooklyn indie singer-songwriter and cello player Kelsey Lu, aka Lu, made a splash in Milan yesterday. Lu sat front row for Gucci’s decidedly “Grandma Chic” Spring 2017 collection. She was also spotted with the brand’s creative director Alessandro Michele, leading Vogue to speculate that Lu might be Gucci’s newest muse.
“It’s been very dreamy,” the singer told Vogue.com via email. “I didn’t have too many expectations seeing as this is my first time, but being sat opposite Serena Williams was a warming surprise. We caught each other’s eye, and shared a smile. It made me feel warm and tingly.”
Lu wore a bright red suit from Gucci’s Pre-Fall 2016 collection, which she accessorized with oversized shades, a snakeskin bag, and snakeskin accented pumps.
