IAMSIGO, Nigerian Fashion Designers, African Fashion Designers

This lookbook by Nigerian fashion brand IAMSIGO draws inspiration from the nomadic Wodaabe people — a nomadic Fulani group in the Sahel region of Africa, located between the Sahara and the Sudanian Savanna. The collection employs solid colors and an artful mix of fabrics. According to Bella Naija,

The fashion brand, owned by Bubu Ogisi, pays homage to certain aspect of the Wodaabe people and their culture – from the years of silence taken by married couples after the birth of their first child, to the ‘Yaakye’ festival where the men’s songs and dances for the women are rewarded with a show of sexual prowess.
