Chicago-based artist, stylist, and creative director Shani Crowe went viral last year when images from her exhibition “Braids” began circulating on social media. Crowe’s work was later displayed at New York’s Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts. She even crafted a unique hairstyle for Solange’s performance at Saturday Night Live following the release of her critically acclaimed album A Seat at the Table.

Over the weekend, Crowe displayed her braiding art in a live performance in New Orleans. “Braids” live was presented by Solange’s Saint Heron label as part of the ongoing artist talk series Roll Back, Say That.
