Janet Jackson broke the internet over the weekend after announcing a new album and a new tour. The pop icon, who has been keeping a pretty low profile since marrying Qatari mogul Wissam Al Mana in 2012, shared a video message to her fans via Twitter. The announcement day coincided with her 49th birthday.

“I promised you’d hear it from my lips, and now you will,” she stated in a cryptic video. “This year: new music; new world tour; a new movement. I’ve been listening. Let’s keep the conversation going.”

Jackson’s last studio album, Discipline, was released in 2008. She toured in 2011 for her Number Ones, Up Close and Personal World Tour, which was highly praised by critics and fans. The elusive star was last spotted at an Armani event in Milan last month.
