Earlier this month, a representative for pioneering black actress Nichelle Nichols reported on her official Facebook page that she had suffered a stroke. Fans and followers of the actress were deeply concerned. The 82-year-old, who is best known for her role as Lieutenant Uhura in Star Trek, is constantly on the road, meeting Trekkies of all stripes at various events.

Weeks later, it looks like Nichols won’t be slowing down anytime soon. Following a statement to her official page which described the actress as “doing well,” she sat down for an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“I am feeling the best that I felt in a very long time,” Nichols told reporter Nischelle Turner. She also added that she was feeling as “wild and woolly” as ever, and even has plans to make an appearance this week.

“Yeah, I am a fighter,” Nichols added. “Don’t be messing with my game. My game is my career.”
