Actress Teyonah Parris, best known for her roles in Dear White People and Mad Men has snagged the role of Lysistrata in Spike Lee’s upcoming project Chiraq, a modern-day retelling of the Greek comedy of the same name. Her character is described as a “a strong-willed sexy woman.”

Parris joins a cast that includes Jennifer Hudson, Samuel L. Jackson, and Wesley Snipes.

Chiraq, which has drawn criticism over its name, is currently filming in Chicago. In the original tale, women refuse to have sex with their husbands in order to bring an end to the Peloponnesian War. In the Lee version, Parris’ character, Lysistrata will lead the charge of women refusing to have sex with their men in order to end gang conflict.

The film also happens to be a musical, with Kanye West possibly contributing to its score.
