Carol’s Daughter Acquired by L’Oréal USA.

Carol's Daughter

According to a press release, beauty giant L’Oréal USA has announced “the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire Carol’s Daughter”.

Carol’s Daughter, which started as a black haircare brand in New York City in 1993, expanded into a multicultural beauty brand in recent years, a move that drew criticism from some. The brand also made headlines when it was announced that companies affiliated with the Carol’s Daughter had filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year. Lisa Price, the founder of the brand, made a public statement nearly a month later, assuring fans and critics that the brand was “still going strong“.

In a video posted to the Carol’s Daughter YouTube account, founder Lisa Price stated that this recent development means that the future of Carol’s Daughter is secure and that the product will always be available. She also stated that the acquisition wasn’t the end of Carol’s Daughter, “but a new beginning.”
