A documentary that was shot over the course of thirteen years, American Promise follows two young boys Idris and Seun, as they navigate their lives at a prestigious New York prep school, Dalton. Directed by Idris’ (pictured in the center above) parents, Joe Brewster and Michèle Stephenson, the well made doc delves into many issues facing young black youth today particularly as it relates to race, class and opportunity.
