Grace Jones to Star in Heavy Metal Silent Film Alongside Iggy Pop and Henry Rollins.

Bjorn Tagemose, Gutterdammerung

For over 40 years, Grace Jones has served as model, muse, actress, singer, and performer, and it looks like the 67-year-old star won’t be slowing down anytime soon. Jones, who announced the release of her memoirs as well as a BBC documentary, is set to star in a heavy metal silent film, alongside rockers Iggy Pop, Henry Rollins, and Eagles of Death Metal‘s Jesse Hughes. The film, Gutterdämmerung, is the creation of Belgian-Swedish filmmaker and artist Bjorn Tagemose, who describes the project as a “loud and dark fairytale.”

According to BEAT,

The film is set in a alternate reality where God has saved the world from sin by taking from mankind the Devil’s Evil Guitar. As a result the Earth has been cleansed into a puritan world with no room for sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll (boo). Que Iggy Pop as the punk angel Vicious, who secretly sends the Evil Guitar back to Earth, unleashing all manner of sin upon mankind.

Things get even crazier when Henry Rollins, as the puritan priest, coerces a girl to destroy the guitar, a quest that see’s her face the most evil rock ‘n’ roll bastards on the planet. Grace Jones plays the only person capable of controlling all the testosterone of all the no good rock ‘n’ rollers – obviously.

Gutterdämmerung is set to be an immersive, multimedia project that’s part rock show and part silent film. It will also go heavy on the special fx.
