Amid a myriad of casting rumors and confirmations for possible guest stars on Empire, it looks like songstress Kelly Rowland has been confirmed for a role on the hit FOX show.

According to E! News, Rowland will appear in a flashback scene as Lucious Lyon’s mother. She confirmed the news over the weekend after rumors of her role on the show started circulating when Empire writers posted a snapshot with Rowland to their official Twitter account.

Rowland joins a star-studded cast of guest stars for season 2, which will include Lenny Kravitz, Alicia Keys, Oprah, and more. No word yet on whether or not she will be singing an original hit during her time on the show.

Season 2 of Empire premieres on FOX on September 23, 2015.
