New Episodes of ‘Loosely Exactly Nicole’ to Air on Facebook Streaming Service.

Nicole Byer

Facebook is the latest company to offer original programming on its streaming service.

The social media giant is reportedly following in the footsteps of Netflix and Hulu by resurrecting a cancelled series — Loosely Exactly Nicole. The MTV show, which ran for 10 episodes and starred comedian Nicole Byer, was axed after its first season.

Loosely Exactly Nicole attracted just under 200,000 viewers on each airing, and built a following online, with fans lamenting the show’s cancellation.

Those who follow media news might not be too surprised by Loosely Exactly Nicole’s big move. Back in February, it was announced that Mina Lefevre, MTV’s executive VP and head of scripted development, had left to the network to join Facebook. Lefevre helped develop Loosely Exactly Nicole at MTV and is leading Facebook’s new foray into scripted shows.
