New York Teen Who Lost House in Hurricane Sandy Accepted To 7 Ivy League Schools.

Daria Rose

In 2012, Daria Rose, then a sophomore in high school, lost all of her worldly possessions in Superstorm Sandy, the brutal hurricane that hit many parts of New York and New Jersey. Despite dealing with an ordeal that would make being able to maintain good grades a challenge for any young person, Daria not only kept her grades up, but now at the age of 18, she has been accepted to all 7 of the Ivy League institutions she applied to.

Now Daria, who has to make a big decision by May 1st, has been visiting colleges, and seems to be leaning towards Yale. She tells ABC News that while she has “always loved Yale’s environment,” Harvard and Princeton are definitely being taken into consideration as well.
