Olympian Sanya Richards-Ross Stars in First Images From Upcoming NikeLab x Riccardo Tisci Collaboration Collection.

Sanya Richards-Ross, Ashton Eaton

Olympian Sanya Richards-Ross is shot alongside fellow Olympic athlete Ashton Eaton in a recently released first image from the upcoming collaboration between Nike and Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci. Both Richards-Ross and Eaton are head to toe in signature floral printed looks which are as functional as they are stylish.

According to Vogue,

The collection features both men’s and women’s pieces, each engineered as much for function as fashion. Half the collaboration comes in graphic black and white, with Tisci-branded touches like an “Engineered to the exact specifications of Riccardo Tisci” print inspired by Nike’s slogan, and a women’s workout skirt that underwent grueling field testing to insure it could withstand squats, sprints, and weight training. The other half of the collection comes covered in a vibrant floral and kaleidoscope print, inspired by flowers from Nike’s home in Oregon; Tisci’s in Taranto, Italy; and Rio de Janeiro, the host city of the 2016 Summer Olympics. The resulting motif recalls some of Tisci’s fantastic textile experiments for Givenchy.

The interesting pairing isn’t Tisci’s first collaboration with the sportswear giant. The designer worked with NikeLab to reimagine the Air Force 1 in low-top, mid, hi, and boot silhouettes back in 2014. And, last month he unveiled his unique take on the dunk.

Nor is the collection his first foray into high fashion sportswear. For Givenchy’s Spring 2009 collection, he took the brand into a direction that was decidedly goth meets activewear — an aesthetic that took off like wildfire.
