Hip-hop legends Salt-N-Pepa have re-entered our collective pop culture consciousness thanks to a Geico commercial, and now we get to see the two femcees face off in an epic episode of “Lip Synch Battle.”

The lifelong friends and collaborators went head to head for two amazing rounds. In the first round the ladies tried their hand at pop hits. Salt tackles the Kelly Clarkson hit “Since U Been Gone” and Pepa does her rendition of Katy Perry’s “Firework.” This round was okay overall, for both ladies, but Salt managed edged out Pepa only slightly.

The real treat came during round 2, when both women brought out the classics. Salt performed the Run–D.M.C. classic “It’s Tricky,” while Pepa took it back to the days of disco, complete with an afro, for Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive.”
