This Portrait of Beyoncé is Headed to the Smithsonian.

Tyler Mitchell made history as the first black photographer to shoot a Vogue cover, with his gorgeous Beyoncé spread for the magazine’s September 2018 issue. Now the 23-year-old talent is making history again — his work will grace the walls of the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.

“A year ago today we broke the flood gates open,” wrote Mitchell, who shared the big news on Twitter and Instagram. “Now I’m glad to share this picture is being acquired into the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery’s permanent collection.”

The featured portrait was originally published in Vogue and features Beyoncé wearing a gold Valentino dress along with a striking gold hat by Philip Treacy London.

No word yet on when Mitchell’s Beyoncé will officially go up.
