Winifred Selby, 19, of Ghana is a 2014 Anzisha Prize Fellow and considered one of Africa’s rising star entrepreneurs. She founded Ghana Bamboo Bikes Initiative at the age of 15. The organization is a green initiative that makes quality, sustainable bikes, suitable for all terrains. It is also committed to fair labor practices, profit-sharing and environmental consciousness. Ghana Bamboo Bikes Initiative employs 30 girls to produce the bikes and earns about $10,000 USD per month from exporting the bikes.

Selby hopes to see her company grow into an multinational enterprise in the future.
