Cynthia Erivo’s avant garde Met Gala look featured an artistic manicure. Celebrity nail artist Gina Oh (who counts Nicki Minaj among her clients) was inspired by the stunning work of Afro-Cuban artist Harmonia Rosales. Oh also included gold beads and even an actual cross chain.

Rosales’ work “The Creation of God,” which is her own take on the famous Michaelangelo Sistine Chapel painting “The Creation of Adam,” features two black women touching hands. The gorgeous painting went viral last year and drew attention to her striking portraits of black women and girls.
