Hit Web Series ‘Brown Girls’ Heads to HBO.

Brown Girls

After attracting a lot of buzz on social media back in February, the hit web series Brown Girls is headed to HBO. The show’s creators inked a deal with the cable network earlier this year.

Directed and produced by Sam Bailey and written by Fatimah Asghar, Brown Girls is a new web series that centers around the strong bond between Leilah (Nabila Hossain), a South Asian writer and Patricia (Sonia Denis), an African-American musician. Puerto Rican-American comedian and Chicago-native Melissa DuPrey also features in the series. Brown Girls is loosely based on Asghar’s own life.

While the planned HBO project is still in development, you can catch up on all the episodes of Brown Girls HERE.
