Essence is definitely starting off 2016 with bang. The long-running fashion and culture bible for black women is all about #blackgirlmagic for it’s February issue. The issue, which features three separate covers, stars Teyonah Parris of Chi-Raq and Dear White People Fame, activist Johnetta “Netta” Elzie, and black-ish star Yara Shahidi.

The issue also celebrates influential and inspirational black women and girls who have excelled in a variety of fields, including world class gymnast Simone Biles, activists Jessica Byrd and Bree Newsome, and actresses Zendaya and Aja Naomi King.

Check out the covers, as well as sneak peek inside the mag below. The February 2016 issue of Essence is on newsstands now.
