Once again, Michelle Obama still isn’t running for president. Over the weekend, The former First Lady was interviewed live on stage by Tracee Ellis Ross at the United State of Women Summit in Los Angeles. In addition to sharing her thoughts on gender equality, Obama also emphatically stated that she would not be running for president. She did, however, encourage the next generation of women to run for office.
“When I hear people say, ‘you run,’ it’s part of the problem. We still didn’t get ‘yes we can’ right,” she said. “It’s not ‘yes you can,’ it’s ‘yes we can.’ And until we get that right, it doesn’t matter who runs.”
Back in 2016, Obama was asked about a possible presidential run after she delivered a series of speeches in support of then presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
