Tereneh Mosley is a fashion designer, educator, and the founder of Idia’Dega, an eco-conscious fashion line based in the United States. In late 2013, Mosley traveled to Olorgesailie in southern Kenya, 40 miles southwest of Nairobi.
Through a collaborative process, she worked with Maasai women artisans to design and create beautiful, original garments and accessories.
In addition to their creative collaboration, Mosley also works closely with the village to help solve infrastructure issues and has even helped the women to open a bank account as well as a collective economics fund.
In the ongoing conversation about ethical fashion, Idia’Dega is definitely a unique endeavor.
